Forbes: How VENTS Became a Global Leader in Climate Solutions

Over the course of 25 years, Ventilation Systems has evolved from a small manufacturing operation into a global powerhouse in the ventilation industry. Forbes Ukraine published an article exploring the unique growth story of VENTS and the key factors behind its success. Below are some highlights from the article.
THE MOST EXTENSIVE SELECTION OF PRODUCTS

One of VENTS' defining strategic priorities has been the pursuit of the most comprehensive product lineup in the industry. While the company in its first few years originally focused on domestic ventilation systems production, it has since expanded into other market segments, namely – industrial, commercial, decentralized, and fire safety ventilation. Today, VENTS is equipped to meet virtually any ventilation demand, delivering tailored, high-efficiency solutions for projects of all types and scales.

FULL-CYCLE MANUFACTURING

Another strategic focus that has strengthened VENTS' position in both domestic and global markets is its commitment to achieving a full production cycle. The company’s capabilities now span the entire manufacturing process – from plastic and metalworking to electronics production, assembly, logistics, and testing. This vertical integration grants the company greater flexibility and independence from external supply chains.
GLOBAL PRESENCE

VENTS products are available in more than 120 countries, with established distribution networks in 80 of them. Company's products are used in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings around the globe – from hospitals in the U.S. and China to office buildings across Europe and Australia. Notable projects include ventilation systems for a stadium in Poland, a railway station in China, the Respublika Park shopping mall in Ukraine, and a training centre in Germany, among hundreds of others. Broad distribution geography allows the company to stay close to its customers, reduce logistics costs and risks, and boost competitiveness in local markets.

DRIVEN BY INNOVATION

Innovation at VENTS is a combination of professional expertise, global experience, and advanced technology in the production of ventilation equipment. The company operates its own design bureau, product management department, and 13 in-house laboratories. This allows the company to handle the entire R&D process without external contractors. VENTS holds over 350 patents registered in Ukraine, the United States, European countries, and China. With innovation integrated into every stage of production, the company can adapt its products to shifting international market requirements within just a few months.
PROCESS AUTOMATION

VENTS places strong emphasis on automating its key processes. Company's production lines are gradually being equipped with robotic modules, particularly employed in plastic processing and product assembly. The company invests significantly in state-of-the-art equipment, including computerised metalworking systems from leading global manufacturers. These investments reduce production costs while boosting quality and process consistency.

LEAN MANUFACTURING

Automation at VENTS goes hand-in-hand with a commitment to sustainability. The company minimizes waste and consistently applies a lean manufacturing strategy. At the production site, this strategy takes the form of the Vents Production System, based on the following Lean principles: energy-efficiency, optimization of human resources, and automation of harmful or labour-intensive processes. This system is designed to eliminate losses and defects, enabling maximum efficiency in production equipment usage, waste reduction, and conservation of raw materials and energy resources.
CLOSER TO THE CUSTOMER

Working with major international clients requires precise planning, strict fulfilment of delivery deadlines, and therefore – well-organized logistics. To that end, in addition to its production facilities in Ukraine, VENTS has its own offices and warehouses in the USA, the UK, Germany, Poland, Hungary, China, and Australia. It also operates logistics hubs in Germany, Poland, and Hungary, which support product delivery to many countries around the world.

HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF

The company’s HR policy is based on the belief that the success of any business depends on a highly skilled, proactive, and engaged workforce. That’s why VENTS places particular emphasis on continuous staff training and the development of employees' creative and intellectual potential. To this end, the company offers various training programs of different durations, along with regular educational events and initiatives that help maintain a high level of knowledge and professional qualification.
